Where This All Started

In the Fall of 2019, Girl Scout Ambassador Makayla Key embarked on her journey of earning her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award for Girl Scouts. From this journey, MAK's Bare Necessities was born. As a Senior at Dudley High School, Makayla knew she wanted to make an impact and decided to do so with the First Annual Sock and Underwear Drive at Dudley High, Lincoln Middle, Bluford Elementary, Swann Middle, Hariston Middle, Allen Middle, Jones Elementary, and Cone Elementary in Guilford County Schools. This idea stemmed from her Girl Scout Silver Award, which was a sock and underwear drive for three Guilford County Schools. With this project she has donated over --- pairs of socks and over 135 pairs of underwear to eight local schools.
